Melting

The melting facilities consist of 4 electric furnaces.

1. The Jobbing Foundry has a 4 tonne Inductotherm unit.
2. The section producing 500 - 900 Kg moulds has two 1 tonne induction furnaces which can double up with the 4 tonne furnace, if required.
3. The remaining melting furnace is a Radyne unit with a 250 Kg capacity.

Utilising the furnaces to maximum effect we are able to produce castings to the following maximum weights.

CAST IRON -4.5 tonnes

SG IRON -4 tonnes

STEEL -3.5 tonnes
